Professor Dr Saeed Akhtar (President/CEO)
President and CEO of Pakistan Kidney Institute and Research Center (PKLI), Dr. Saeed Akhtar MD, MPH, FACS is a transplant surgeon and the professor of Urology. He left a successful career in the United States in order to return to Pakistan and serve his country. He successfully established an upskilling system responsible for imparting basic and advanced life support training to the health care providers and other interested volunteers. This led to the birth of “Life Savers foundation” where he was appointed as the Head of the Board and was responsible for oversight and continuous development of the system.
Dr Masooma Saeed (Vice President)
Co-founder of Life Savers Foundation, Dr Masooma Saeed is also an eminent anesthesiologist with a number of certifications under her belt. She shares the vision of Dr Saeed Akhtar and continues to promote the development of this organization. Along with assisting the board chair in the execution of his duties, she is also involved in policymaking and fundraising for the organization.
Dr Abdur Rehman (Anaesthesiologist)
A successful anesthesiologist and an active member of the board at Life Savers foundation, Dr Abdur rehman oversees most of the board operations. He works to steer the organization towards a sustainable future by adopting sound, ethical, and legal governance & financial management policies. Along with continuous efforts to bring the foundation to higher levels, he also serves as an experienced and effective instructor in the ongoing courses held at different locations.
Dr Khurram Shehzad (Medical Specialist)
As he heads the busiest department (medicine) at POL Hospital, Khaur, Dr Khurram Shehzad leaves no effort undone when it comes to promoting and furthering the development of the Life Savers Foundation. He also actively participates as an instructor to train all under his staff and others. He works in strategic planning to ensure that Life Savers Foundation can successfully fulfill its Mission into the future. He serves as an active advocate and ambassador for the organization by remaining fully engaged in identifying and securing the financial resources and partnerships necessary for the organization to advance its mission.
Managing Affairs
Dr Khurram Zubair (Executive Director)
After doing his MBBS from RMC in 1992 and spending 2 years of training in the ER, Dr Khurram Zubair is passionately and tirelessly working to promote and improve foundation affairs. He oversees the administration, programs, and strategic plan of the organization. He proposes all the actions taken regarding course conduction and continuously works to improve the quality of all operations. Not only does he actively participate in courses as an instructor but also participates in the hiring, training and retention of competent & qualified staff. He runs in a manner that supports and guides the organization’s mission as defined by the Board of Directors
Dr Shanza Poswal (Executive Assistant)
Dr Shanza Poswal is a certified pharmacist, who after adequate training, joined the life savers foundation as an executive assistant. She works along with the executive director to help manage the day-to-day affairs. Along with performing her duties as an instructor, she is also responsible for all course conduction material and social media content updating.
Dr Zoha Sajid Qureshi
After completing her MBBS, Dr Zoha Sajid Qureshi has gained sufficient experience in surgical and clinical research departments and is currently working as an instructor at SCM and Life Savers Foundation. Along with organizing and conducting various sessions energetically and proficiently, she is also responsible for course material updates, social media management, and carrying out minor managerial tasks.
Instructors
Dr Muhhamad Ashraf Chisti
Pediatric specialist and former instructor at American Heart Association, Dr Muhammad Ashraf Chisti is an asset to Life Savers Foundation. He is very energetic while conducting basic life support sessions and strives to maintain adequate standards of training.
Dr Zeeshan Baig
Dr Zeeshan baig is an assistant professor at IMDC who also runs his private practice as oral-maxillofacial surgeon. Along with completing multiple surgical fellowships abroad, he is also focused on his career in health education. Dr Zeeshan conducts all his sessions passionately and keeps the students engaged throughout the training. He is frequently appreciated for his determination to achieve higher goals and targets.
Dr Sidra
Dr Sidra is a highly competent emergency physician and a proactive member of foundation who conducts all the sessions with zeal and zest. Being kind and generous at heart, Dr Sidra is also a huge advocate of human rights and works voluntarily for the betterment of society
Dr Anisa Malik
She completed her MBBS from RMC and is currently working as a medical officer at SICU and an instructor at Lifesavers Foundation. Dr Anisa Malik is a passionate and enthusiastic member of the team who actively participates in providing training at various courses.
Uzair
Mr Uzair is a nursing supervisor at IHITC who has eight years’ experience in emergency department. He is self-motivated and a vigilant instructor in the team.
